Would just like to make a couple of points on this...
1st i pitty most of the employees who will loose their jobs. But not those in charge
2nd this wont be a result of the credit crunch, its a shop that sell white goods and other usefull things cheaply, they should be booming.
3rd this is all down the idiots who ran the company and the music chain they bought and ran into the ground in 2yrs flat.
All i have to say to them is "we told you so!"
I hope it ruins their xmas

Not really - they do sell that sort of product, but they arent the cheapest place for them (nor the most expensive) - so they were bound to be the first to feel the strain.

the place is expensive and has some alright stuff that you can get cheaper else where, sadly the market has moved and they didn't.
Sad on the employee's though

TBH I'm suprised they didn't go under years back. The CD's aren't cheap, the games aren't cheap, the DVD's aren't cheap. I honestly don't see where Woolies fit in these days, people go to places like Tescos & Asda for the stuff they used to get from Woolies.
It's only because of their location in town centres that they were doing any kind of business anyway.

And strange enough its also their downfall as their huge rent bill due next quarter is whats caused them to have to go into admin

What got to me last night was channel 4 interviewing some rep of the government (why i dont know) and asked if they'd be bailing woolworths out.....
Companies go into administration daily, including where i work 3 weeks ago..and we dont expect the government to bail us out even though we do a lot of work for them !
And i agree with daymoon Old, fugly....

They are always dirty inside, shelves look bare. Disgusting places.
But I have fond memories of going in there as a kid to get my Turtles figures, Ghostbusters when I used to visit my nan & grandad before I moved to Reading.

they bought MVC in 2003 ish and it was doing ok, then scrapped every advantage we had. Made masses of stupid descision on a daily basis. Its been on the cards for ages.
Dvds are cheap non chart as are dvds!
Run by a bunch of fucktards, they never paid the rent on any of the properties they owned with mvc. Its got nout to do with the credit crunch etc

Exactly. There's a bit of a difference between a local company and high street chains.

spastic isn't the correct word anymore, the spastic association is now called scope. so when people are "scoping phi" it doesn't always mean people are looking at her through telescopes
