i read that it depends what cars are taken round, as some companies use their test driver and then topgear dress him up in the stig outfit.

My brother was on stand by as a fireman, at the airstrip they use to do the stupid stunts, he, told me that he found out who the stig was but wouldnt tell me

he said it was someone from F1 but not a driver!

some one i know has a friend that is a cameraman for TG.. and that man knows who is the stig.. but cant tell...

i think the fact that everyone wants to know but cant make the stig intresting?

seriously, its various people!
Thats part of the reasoning behind the "stig"

So a manufacturer can send a driver, use different stigs for different reasons etc.
