I rent a garage through the council for £3.50 a week IIRC. Only big enough for the car mind.

Better off renting a garage.
Units are pretty exspensive.
Rent / Licence Fee
Industrial UnitsYou will be responsible to pay the Council rent for the premises you are occupying. All rental payments are due as stated in your lease or tenancy agreement and are normally payable monthly in advance. Payment is usually by direct debit.
Insurance
The Council insures the premises, the premium being recharged to the tenant. However, it is your responsibility to satisfy yourself as to the extent of cover, to obtain additional cover if required and to obtain contents insurance.
Service Charges
Normally apply to commercial premises. If they apply they will be detailed within your lease and could cover services such as repairs, cleaning, security etc.
Theres also buisness rates to pay.
Where as with a garage you'd just pay the rent and contents insurance.
But ive been on the council waiting list for a garage over 3 years now lol

i pay £95 per quater is is a little over £1 a day, i can live with that.
i rent of my local council. they will maintain the garage if i find the need (but really only covers the door/lock unless a wall falls down!) and will paint the door every 2/3 years as protection from the elements. contents are stored at my own risk. i can do what i like with the space although should be legal, only condition that any changes i make (shelving on walls) are removed at the end of my lease

I pay £10.50 a week for my garage (Private rent from a landlord).
I get space for the car, running water and electric, an inspection pit, shelving and cupboards etc.
In it there is plenty of room - not quite a double garage, but not far off - loads of room for a mountain bike, spare car parts, etc.

Me and my bro have just acquired some land with 4 garages on and a fair plot of land ajoined. we are going to see what chance we have a of planning for a pair of semis and if no joy perhaps more garages.
Will be looking to rent the garages out so interested too see what people are paying down south. Might keep one on for myself for a project/toy...

IIRC they are called Billy, Aisle 17, Number 2, Thurrock Ikea
Plenty good enough for what I need them for, and cheap enough as they are just going to get grubby!
