Now I understand why people rave on about them all the time, fuck me.

This one had cams, full stainless exhaust, ecosse induction, and a unichip i think, and fuck me it shifted, handling was awesome too.

Is it wrong I want one

I must admit VTR/VTS/106 GTI's have that instant feel good factor..just light..pin sharp steering and simple to control

BUT to live with everyday that gets tiresome..IMO of course

lift off oversteer can catch out the inexperienced driver though, as my mate found out.

If I got one it would have to be tuned like that one, its faster than my dads 206 GTI 180, its bloody mental.

Its my brothers car, he did have a scooby wrx wagon, says it feels faster than than and his redtop corsa.

Keith, come up and show him whats what

The oversteer NEARLY caught me out once too, I learned to respect the torsion bar though, and I agree with Alan, they are a drag day to day, mine was anyway,

I didnt do too bad against a standard one in my smoke machine..... from a rolling start obviously

A few of my mates have got GTI's. Yes they are nice cars and handle well and you can get good power out of them. But everyone has broke at some point. Dont think i would have a GTI but i would have a Rallye

Had a shot of a rallye too, friend of mine has one, 124bhp. Goes well, and can keep up with a standard VTS up to silly speeds, then the extra 8 valves seem to help the VTS.

Where you are going around a bend and back off the throttle and upset the balance of the car, usually ending up with a tree/lamppost/telegraph pole/building coming through your boot.

1) Accelerate into a corner as you do
2) Turn in
3) Lift off the gas
4) Weight transfers to the front of the car
5) Back end goes light
6) Car goes sideways
7) Open your eyes about 7 minutes later with a concussion and climb out of the passenger window
