I went back to the place that did my tracking because it made no difference to the pulling, he said maybe my car was torque steering

Sure

I also think that he doesn't like me or something because always goes on about how Vaux didn't design Corsa's with 16" wheels

He said "they design it with the right size wheels and tyres for optimum comfort, and you've gone and put 45 profiles on. You're probably feeling what it was already doing because it has more grip, being wider as well"

That's an irrelevant argument as you shouldn't be feeling it either way

Exactly. He was on about there being less give in the tyres, though, because of them being 45 profile instead of 70.

Although, he said it could also be the brake pulling it over, if it was adjusted wrong, but I don't see how that could only happen after changing the wheels over

Does the wheel shake? Or just pull to one side?

I'd say if it's only just started it's related to the new wheels, which could need re-balancing

Yeah, I thought it could be the balancing as well, I don't think it shakes but it does pull to the left, and it's not even or anything (i.e. not the same amount of pull all the time). Tbh the weight on that wheel isn't very secure and you can move it by poking it

I'm going to try swapping the front and back wheels over in an attempt to make it better before Saturday.

Gladly

Going to a garage that I've been told is better next time

Still, they did offer to change the wheels over for free for me Not that I can do it at home or anything

15's plus a larger profile tyre is the same size as 16's with a lower profile

The tracking is (supposedly) ok now, and I think the suspension is ok but won't rule it out, I may take it to a different place tomorrow to get the balancing checked, and the tyre in question foes have a bit of scrubbage, probably from an arch, but other than that I think they're all worn the same.

Exactly - hence I won't bother going back there

When I used to live in Oxford I used to take my cars to a place on Cowley Road, I can't remember their name but they are one of blackcircles.com's approved fitters, they seemed OK and you can haggle on prices with them too.

They are near the police station end of Cowley Road from what I can remember.

These lot you took your car to seem like a bunch of cowboys?

When will people realise just getting your tracking done doesn't automatically mean it won't pull to one side. The guy has a point, you fit overly big wheels on a little car it's going to follow the lines in the road ie camber towards the curb.

Balancing won't cure it, tracking probably won't. Fitting the wheels that are supposed to be on the car probably will.

If you can find one that is 100% perfect and it does it then I'd suggest something else is wrong with the car.

Corsa B's were all 13" or 14" wheels, none came with 15's from the factory.

roads will always have grooves from tracffic etc, and camber.

He has said it's not puuling all the time..

Its just that he has fitted wider wheels and tyres and has no discovered TRAM LINING.

Stop hassling the guy and maybe listen to him

Apparently it was toe-ing in a bit, but as I said it didn't make a whole lot of difference. Swapping them over later (front and back) and see if that helps.

This bloke also said that it could be because the tyres aren't gripping well in the wet, I told him it doesn't matter if it' swet or dry and he went back to the "they're not meant to be that big" thing again.

Joe, I wasn't originally going to get 16's, I was going to get 14's, but there weren't any for sale with decent tyres, and these were a fairly good price so settled for the larger ones.
