It's about some weird monster that attacks new york, filmed from a handy cam like the Blair Witch Project. I really wasted 2 and a half hours of my time tonight watching it

Not much happens in it at all, quite disapointed actually. Step Brothers on the other hand is funny, great film

I think it was just over an hour long, it's not a very good film anyway.

Pretty close match between that and Strangers TBPFH. I was shocked, nae, FLABERGASTED at the way it ended. I'm positive they got bored and or confused 1 hour into it so just decided to cut it short!!

I'm not alone mum, brother, girlfriend and work mate all loved it! In fact it was my work buddy that said "film of the year" before me lol. Also, 7.6/10 on IMDB which going by their standards is pretty amazing!

First review on there says...

"Did it live up to the hype? The answer is OH GOD YES Cloverfield is by far the most intense monster film I have ever seen in my lifetime, after the initial 15 minutes of character introduction and whatnot the film does not go 5 minutes without a HOLY CRAP moment. Constantly driving you to the edge of your seat at every turn and it really pulls no punches"

"Cloverfield is the definitive American Monster Film, watch it again to see the things you missed or just to enjoy the ride again, admittedly the shock value will wane with multiple viewings but for what it's worth Cloverfield is an excellent piece of film and special effect engineering and is the first great monster film of the millennium"

I agree

What is it with people needing some kind of happy ending in a movie for it to be good?

If it's filmed on a camera being carried around by people, it seems like the perfect kind of ending to me. What was supposed to happen? The americans got the better of them and saved the day?

Good film IMO.

I liked it, it was never going to be the film it was hyped to be but it was not bad.

Definitely nowhere near the worst film ever!

If there is a 2nd film, a sequel to it then it wouldnt be sooo bad, but, the way the first one ended was shocking its like the batteries died on the handycam

Yeah that was what pissed me off about it really, you can always tell when a film ends with the sole intention of hyping the next part.

It wasn't it not being a happy ending that put me off, just thought it wasn't very good, quite predictable at times.

It was kind of apparent the first time you saw his legs, after he tossed the head of the statue of liberty down the street special effects were decent though, because it was so hyped I just thought there was going to be more to it.
