Someone has offered a straight swap for my van....

for this 106 GTI.....
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/728119.htm
Tbh, i just want the money for my van so i can pay off stuff. But i'm wondering if i could shift the 106 GTI on quicker than i could on my van?? An i'm not sure what the 106 is worth either? £5k seems a bit steep to me?

The 106 is worth half that but people seem to pay stupid money for them, should be much easier to shift than that van either way.

You could get decent money for the 106gti, but the prob is will people be able to insure it with all the mods on it
Personally, if the van was still white, no i wouldnt swap, now, i would

So he got an extra 60 bhp by adding cams and an exhaust/manifold + chip.
Now that's impressive.

What does the colour have to do with anything? I'm asking if its worth taking a punt on the swap, how much the GTI is actually worth and whether i could sell it on?

I've had more problems with vauxhall than I ever had with french cars, its swings and roundabouts. The 106 will be far more fun imo and probably easier to sell on, only a select few will want a green euro xe corsa van, dont take that the wrong way though, I didnt mean it in a bad way.

imo 106 will be 100x easier to sell than your van.
5k is maybe overpriced, how much are you asking for yours?

I won't be keeping the 106 though. I know my van's going to be difficult to sell on, hence why i'm asking if i should swap. I've not actually advertised it. The guy offering the swap pm'd me from another forum. I've also got a mate who's meant to be having it, but i've been waiting for payment for the last 5 or 6 weeks

The 106 is over priced, no question about that. How much would you value your van at as I would value the 106 at around 2.5-3.5k.

I'd take the GTi.
Bad time to be selling a car just now, let alone a highly modded, appeal to a small group van.
106 will sell & at the end of the day thats the result you need!?

It is quite a nice 106 to be fair, yellow appeals to some folk. Low miles, clean looking car.

What a joke. The 106 will be at most 160bhp with a remap, they wont see anything over without throttle bodies and wont go anything over 170 without uprated internals.

I'd swap personally, with 160+bhp in that 106 it will be very quick and most important to you ALOT easier to sell on as a quick 106 GTI appeals to more people than a green van
As for the comments of it being overpriced I sold my GTI for £3k on a 98 plate with double that mileage with only a few of those mods so £5k aint far of the goin rate for them
