My Understanding, that 'Humvee' was the name used for 'HMMWV' -High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. The name for the Hummer H1 military equivelant pre commercialisation.
In any event, the H1 for military application and commercial market is/was the same and manufactured by the same peoples.
