So, im going to pick up some tyres 2moro in derbyshire.

So i plan to leave at 9 and get there between 11 and 12

My mum thinks im mad and that it will be extremely busy, and the fact that my car is lowered wont help things

Is she right?

Im not going through the peak district by the way, would be down the m6 etc

Yea, an 80 mile drive is total madness. I've never gone that far before ever.

Im getting some £390 tires for £170 so i think it is worth it

whereabouts in derbyshire are you going? 80 miles shouldn't take long. I live in derbyshire and never had any trouble with my lowered car, so you should be alright...

Mum's know nothing tbf. My car didn't want to start a few weeks back, just one morning it took a while, according to my mum it was probably cos I've took the interior out of it

She seems to think cars have feelings and mine is unhappy cos I've stripped it out

80miles is nothing, earlier this year I drove about 220 miles to a SE rolling road day, got told my afm was knackered and I shouldn't take it past 3.8k, then drove another 220 miles home having to stay between under 3.8k, that's about 70 in 5th

That's in a lowered, stripped out Corsa with no centre box and a very small back box so it's fairly loud too.

Yep, I remember oversleeping once, I was supposed to be in Nottingham for 9 o'clock. Mum woke me up at about 7.20 and I was out at half past. It usually took about 2 hours but this time took me 2 1/2 hours cos the M6 was chocker. I made quite a bit of time up once I got off the motorway too, if I'd have drove at normal speeds it would've took at least 3-3 1/2 hours

Derby is only connected to civilistation by a number of a-b roads and hills. It may not seem far but it takes a fucking hell of a long time to get there.

Theres no m25 connecting it, its no constant 80-90mph on the mway, its a ball ache of a journey.

I have done it a few times, its only 100miles takes in-excess of 3hrs from where i am.

Agreed there, if he's taking the A50 it's full of roundabouts at one point. As I said before Nottingham is 100 miles from me, and when I got used to the journey I could do it in about 2 hours. That was in a Suzuki Alto 1.1 with the rear bumper flapping in the wind
