I just sold mine and gona try and survive without a car for as long as I can so I can pay my credit card off

Ive always had a car since my test, I can cycle to work. Just been lazy.

Thoughts, anyone else manage without a car day to day?

Never done it through choice, but did manage fine getting the train to work. Savings were marginal tbh after cost of train pass.

my car was off the road for 6 months recently. i started off walking to and from work as its only 4 miles away. it was taking too long though so i bought a mountain bike. its good for fitness and you will save money. whats the crack with losing your no claims bonus if you have one?

will you not lose it or at least a percentage of it since you are not currently insured on any vehicle? i'm not sure tbh as mine was still insured when it was off the road.

I do it now, but where I live there is a good underground system and its cheaper than driving to work.

Only thing I found was hard was food shopping but I get that delivered now.

Its amazing how much money you save.

I did debate getting a push bike and using a train pass throughout the summer...

Only problem is the UK never seems to have a summer season these days

I aint had a car for years, it's a pain in the ass now tbh. Didn't miss having one for a long time but living a bit away from my GF and imminent trips to my new work offices (20 miles or so away) are making me realise I need to bite the bullet and get one

Ive survived 5months - saved absolute fortunes but you realise after a few lifts off people how much you miss a car, just for little things like going bank or shops or drop your mum at work or pick up a doris etc etc

Also walking to the station in the morning getting my suite trousers wrecked in the mud is not a good look lol

i dont mind rain when i'm on my bike. i get changed when i get to work anyway though so i'm never bothered about getting dry. rain actually spurrs me on to go quicker anyway. the only thing that pisses me off is lately i've been getting punctures far too often.

I just want to last until xmas time, then buy a new car unless I can get my credit card paid off. Just hate being in debt.

I will just get a cheap car for £2k when I do decide.

I got a pretty decent moutain bike, so all I might do is treat it to a new wireless speedo lol that way I can try and keep track of mph and time I've done on the bike. Might make me more tempted to use it if I race myself.
