i know afew people will be interested so i thought i'd post these up from the weekend. i won't pretend that the photos are any good and for most of them i found the zoom on the camera wasn't quite as good as i had hoped there also seems to be alot of helicopters as they're slower and are therefore easier to take photos of

first glimpse of the beast itself

this broke some world record for doing 11 twists in a row

this hawk was too quick to get a decent photo of

love tornadoes

during a demonstration the aircraft dropped "bombs" (explosives set in the beach that they set off) and one created this, was there for aaaaaages and rose right into the skies

again, this was too quick to get any good photos of, shame

the vulcan had been cancelled on the saturday and was last minute that it turned up on the sunday, but it came for the finale

Excellent pics you did well considering as you said they were quite fast. I have always wanted to go one of these airshows - there is one near me - waddington I think.

What is that plane with the umbrella type thing on it is it radar or something?

It's a radar. The plane is an E-3 AWACS I think.

A guy at my work went, was talking about the display with the 'bombs' etc. One of the other lads pipes up 'they don't use real rounds you know, they are just explosives set in the sand'

What a twat

No, he meant they don't actually drop bombs and shoot bullets. He's a cunt either way tbh.

explosions were pretty big, the heat off them was pretty good, but we were pretty close tbh. i'd love to see the health and safety report on 4 tornados and an apache shooting live rounds about 50 yards from a crowd of thousands of civilians the apache flew over and they were still going off after it finished its run, but you can't have it every way

i too wish they had bombed hesketh bank but you need to be careful what you wish for

apache was pretty special for me i think
