I've recently registered for my final year (Year 3) at Uni, so this is my make or break year. Both when registering, and when I looked at my ID card, it says the course ends on the 05.06.2009. So, in theory, I'll be completely done, everything handed in, the Friday before PVS '09. Going to be weird waking up Monday morning (unless I have a job) and thinking "Oh shit, what do I do now"
When have other people finished their final year, as this seems REALLY early? I dread to think I may be done even earlier, 'cause of hand in dates and so on.

Most courses finish mid june, early july, earlier if you don't have many exams (most of my course is coursework based).

Its really weird waking up for the first time when your back at home thinking what you have to do........and realising nothing
But then it sinks in that you need to get a job

I'll be actively looking for a job way before I graduate though
Also, should I be thinking about holidays the summer I graduate, in case of job offers?

A proper degree with a dissertation worth a decent ammount of credits is a bloody hard thing to do!
PaulJ did a very simmilar degree to mine so I am sure he will back that statement up!
Dont underestimate the work load in your final year

Oh, I'm not, and despite doing 'Marketing & Media Practices', I'll be working hard for a 1st.
Unfortunately, I'm one of the genuine marketing/media students that has wanted to do it for a career for ages, and not just as something 'easy' to do at Uni.

My graduation ceremony will be on one of these days: 14, 15, 16 and 17 July 2009. Though the exam period is 19 April to 16 June 2009, but the engineering school (which I'm in) always has their exams at the end so I'm going to assume that the are in the first few weeks of June

June 2006...
I had to do a post graduate course though which didnt finish until June 2007...
I then had to do another Financial Skills exam in 2008 whilst working which is a requirement of the Law Society...
I completed that in June 2008 so that is me done...forever!!!
I started uni in 2003 so have been sitting exams for 5 years now: 3 years in uni...one year in law school...then another exam whilst working....

Dont underestimate the work load in your final year
although, I'm sure you were equally surrounded by house mates that do doss degrees That's the most annoying thing you're working your balls off while they're chilling infront of the tv.
Lack of sleep, red bulls, monster and relentless became common place. I did several 60-70 hour + stints with no sleep.
Here's an example of me and one of my house mate that did horticulture
Me :
My Project had to be decided before I finished my 2nd year and you were strongly encouraged to work hard throughout the summer before 3rd year on the project to get a lot done on it. All in my project report was around 200 pages or so and the software application I made for it, took me around (finding time where I could to work on it) 6 months to complete.
My horticulture house mate:
He hadn't even decided what his project / dissertation was going to be until the 2nd term of 3rd year, I think I saw him spend a matter of days on it, looked wafer thin ~ 20 pages.
My 3rd year:
I had a fairly solid schedule still, but thankfully slightly less than the last two years (which most people refer to as the easy years). Would have to be on campus 4 days a week and attend a lot of lectures / practicals / tutourials.
My horticulture mate:
Total of about 5 hours on campus a week, spread over 2 days. 1 fairly busy day and 1 where he had 1 lecture.
My 3rd Year:
I had 8 modules, and therefore 8 sets of lectures, 8 sets of assignments, 8 amounts of things to remember.
My horticulture mate:
He had 3 modules, hardly any assignments / work to do.
My 3rd Year Exams:
I had 7 exams, spread over a 2 week period. From the time I finished my project (which is always a rush) to the time of my first exam was about 8 days This meant a lot of my revision was done a day or two before each exam, in the gaps I could find (and many just revised for the night before).
horticulture mates exams:
3 exams, spread over 2 weeks. Had the whole of easter (5 weeks) to revise, plus 4 more on his return (due to his dissertation being done and handed in before easter and no more work).
He got 2:1 and I got a 1st.
Takes the piss really, as I worked my arse off the final (and other two years) and he just breezed through all 3, chilling out most of the time. He isn't even going to do a job in horticulture, he's already moved into a management position somewhere (where they were just happy at the fact he had a 2:1 in a degree).
Sorry for the essay / rant. But it does make me laugh at how little some students do and how much some other's do. It used to annoy me being called a 'Student Dosser' by non uni peeps, until I saw all my house mates doing jack shit and realised that the majority of students do have it very easy!

I do 6 modules + dissertation I think.
My 2nd year was easier than 1st. HOWEVER, it may just be because I was used to Uni work etc etc

And mine. I know some courses are worse than others.
My sister did a Fashion BA. You may think that was a doss course, but it most certainly wasn't. She did all nighters getting her collection ready, and she had to do a dissertation. Funny though, because she does stupid hours at work now, so it kind of preped her.

It does make me rage when people claim i'm a student dosser and when you try and explain the amount of work you have to put in, they switch off....
Oh and I finish early to mid june i think, but don't have the graduation ceremony till november time i think...
