Robert, Nathan and Thomas are CHUMPS

Fonz - After a cheapish water/windproof jacket, base layers, trousers (+ waterproofs to slip on over the top if it pisses it down at the top) and a decent pair of walking trainers (boots are too expensive, i wont get enough wear out of them).

Myke - Look on the site now, seems good....

How cheap are we talking? Because often the cheapest stuff is also shit, not breathable etc.

I bought a Berghaus jacket from Millets on Saturday for £75. I wouldn't spend any less on a jacket if I was walking Snowdon.

Deano - yeah that's the sort of thing im after, but the £75 at millets is like £50 on GoOutdoors.

Fair enough. All I'd say is don't skimp, the last thing you want to do is climb Snowdon, either wet & uncomfortable, or for something to happen and not be properly prepared.

http://www.cadetdirect.com/products2.php?subcat=318

The Gore-tex products, trousers and jacket are easily compacted and the trousers slip over outer garments providing your not the size of Johnny Vegas!!
