Basically after some cheap and reasonable 185/55/14 can be lower profile though.

Ideally have a nice directional tread pattern.

Federals are on par with Toyo Proxes T1-S, very good in the dry, reasonable in the wet.

Because it's one of the most important things on your car.

I'd rather buy them brand new, hopefully knowing that there is some sort of quality control, who knows whats happened to second hand ones.

I can't believe people choose a tyre on price alone.

Fair point, people unfortunately do have budgets though.

I've not had to change many tyres but when I have i've had a look at whats in my price range and researched the best from them.

I am not saying i just get em to slap any on shite on my wheels.... I do make sure that there is no repairs, damage to tyre and even tread etc....

Why spend nearly tripple when can get same for cheaper price....

I'm on a budget but I wouldn't even consider buying a tyre with a name like Sunny, Speedo, Lingwong, Kings etc, they're bound to be shite.

Part worns aren't that bad anyway, if you know what you're looking for, I just sold a set of 195/50 15 Pirellis which cost me nearly £200 fitted for half that, with 100 miles on. You could be unlucky, but if you buy them from someone who has a licence to sell part worns (which you need if you're a proper trader, not an ebay seller) you've got nothing to worry about.

Retreads on the other hand.....

I just wouldn't trust them.

Whether thats valid or not i'm not sure but i'd buy cheap brand new ones over part worns.

I'd buy part worns, but only cause I know what I'm looking for.

My mum had remoulds on an old Polo, they were shocking
