Is it me or do total idiots who don't know a single thing about cars or engines always say "Yeh its been chipped" and you reply "Oh, how come? What else has been done which would benifit from that?" they say nothing else? Bollocks it is!

I remapped my dad's Meriva.

Took out the AA 2004 map and replaced it with an RAC 2007 one.

Best one i heard was from an mg zr owner years ago, 'yer since its been chipped it eats scoobies for breakfast, burnt loads off at the lights'. wasnt one to argue with him at the time though ,was a rather large scary lookin bloke and i was buying some alloys off him. So just done the usual nod follwed by 'really mate'. He also told me i needed special wheel nuts to hold my alloys on,as the ones that hold steelies not good enough, aparently his mate found out the hard way when he used steely wheel nuts on his xr3i alloys on the motorway, really knew his stuff he did.

really makes me think what goes on in some peoples head sometimes

Have heard so many people say this! Most people who say it don't even know where a chip would go. I'd be surprised if a couple of them were even capable of ordering them from the local chippy without assistance.

I remember when my Dad was looking at E34 bmw's years ago and a few of the adverts on AT had "chipped". What stone chipped? Chip Chipped?
