Why would he give em the money back?

Fair do's some people would if the buyer was having trouble with it so soon after buying but after they've ripped half the front end off it

No such thing as 'not sold as seen' on a private sale, he wouldn't have offered a warranty, so if it fucks up 20 feet away, it's not his problem.

The guy is clearly a mug for giving a refund after someone fucked his car up by towing it without thinking.

Both a couple of idiots, if he breaks the car then it's not the seller's fault. It's French, did he expect it to be reliable

I'm not sure what is worse, advising someone to tow it with the slam panel or actually doing it.

I'd say that sounded like the buyer had took it upon himself to try and tow it by the slam panel which means no blame what so ever on the seller, yet he still bought his damaged car back for the same price he sold it undamaged for

I know the seller from another forum, and from what he said he already agreed to a refund before knowing about the attemt to tow it.
Tbh i would have told the buyer where to go ... but his decision.
