I had an insurance quote done yesterday for a different car and the company i'm with wanted £1996 for a 1.9 a4 tdi
I then asked them to quote for my exact car, and they said £400 more than i'm paying with them
This credit thing is having a wider impact i think

Yea it was very cheap, £300 for a 20 y/o male on a 2.0DTi, shouldve been around £500 + as i was on PAYD, would have been £900 on a normal policy

My insurance didn't go down a great deal, only £35. I thin did a quote on the web, same company, and it had gone down £135 so I managed to get my renewal for that price.
£600, Endsleigh (Zurich), Student, 20, 1 NCB, 1 claim, alloys declared, 12v, FC.

But last year you were a 1.8 and this year you have a 2l turbo so perhaps thats why it's gone up

but he he would still have notice it when he changed over engines on his policy - he would have seent he difference - so he wasnt expecting it to be so high maybe

But when he changed it over they would have just said that'll be an extra £100 til the end of your policy, which makes it difficult to guess the price for a year

Just phone lots of in surance brokers and play them off aganst each other and mention discount with car forums to - that usually helps. also does getting the car valued with all your receipts help get to a decent price??
