Are they worth anything in scrap metal, got some shitters that no one will want to buy, wondering if I could just weigh them in?

sure its about £5 each alloy u need to strip the tyre/valve off them tho!

erm the price of scrap metal going through the roof i would have thought they are worth more than alloys (in scrap value)

certain metals are worth more than others and its only the ones that are in demand that have risen

I mostly weigh copper and brass which has increased massivly

aluminium has increased abit, we dont even bother weighing old steel radiators or cast iron boilers we just give them to the scrap yard for nothing

i weighed in some 185 wide 14 inch wheels in at emr and i got 6£ a wheel

that was ages ago though, so £6-£10 depending on weight

scrap value's just dropped... anyone thinking steel is worth more than alloy, even mixed alloy is having a bubble tbh.


on a good note, i found about 20 rolls of roofing lead behind my workshop, which will be getting weighed in soon

yeah it has come down a bit, a few months back we were getting around £2.30 - £2.50 for a Kilo of copper, if we had the patients to save it till we had a ton we could have took it to the docks and probably got aroun £3.00 - £3.50 a kilo for it

we got £2.10 on Friday
