My wee cousin was telling me they use the intermediate ones for standard grades like the stupid people used to get in 5th year.

standard grades
1-credit
2-credit
3-general
4-general
5-foundation
6-foundation
then
higher
int 2
int 1
access
to do the higher part you need a 1 or 2 for that subject, 3 or 4 for int 2 and 5 or 6 to do int 1.
if you pass these in 5th year and do 6th year you can upgrade eg higher to advanced higher or int 2 to higher.
thats the scottish system.

why only 7 in 1 year?
I did 8 S grades in 3rd/4th year, then 5 highers in 5th, then went to Uni just after turning 17

Radio said the pass rate has went up again.
I'm 100% sure that the students aren't getting smarter so something is wrong somewhere.
