Not the turbo models though.

Had a little play with one last night on way back from leeds and i must say i was right on his arse. I thought they were meant to be nippy?

I love the turbo's though. Some dude has a remapped and FMIC'd one round here and its gorgeous.

Just thought i'd share my dissapointment as im still a vauxhall bummer

there not fast in a straight line but get behind someone who can drive one properly and the speed it holds in the corners you would never gain back in the nova

I was in the Seat

And there were plenty of corners The seat's handling is pretty good now thanks to spacers.

Ah well. I wanna go in a turbo one

The thing is, if you had a proper FWD car which doesn't understeer - and similar level of grip in the tyres, I think a FWD car (which handles well) could stick with a VX220 on the road.

People always say it'll thrash a hot hatch / FWD car easily in the twisties. But based on what? Only on the fact that naturally the VX220 have a good balanced chassis and won't understeer.

But think Touring cars, the FWD cars are just as quick as the RWD cars as they've been made not to understeer and are equally as balanced and grippy on the tyres.

Are people missing the fuller picture here?

The VXX220 is a focused driving car that has press rave reviews.

FWD Cupra turbo..rubbush chasis and poise of an overweight troll.

The only reason you kept up with a VX220 NA was purely down to his driving skills...and I would bet my bottom dollar on that too.

well since i have one i feel compelled to reply..

the standard 2.2 isnt that quick in a stright line.. what alot of ppl forget is that its 145bhp... yes thats it so once your rolling its pretty slow compaired to most..

but the 0-100 is pretty good and the cornering o the car is well up there..

in scotland i was playing with some bike and he only past me on the straight then i caught back up fairly sharpish.. i wish id of got a video..

watch this for stright line speed.

FMIC on a mid mounted engine. That's an interesting concept.
