I know there's a few of you...
Looking to organise a night out in Milton Keynes, got loads of people coming from all around and seems that MK is fairly central.
Need to know what bars are like, where to go, where not to go. How strict the dress code, do they allow fancy dress? Regular ID checks etc....
Thanks

Well i'm 25, other people might be younger, not to much and others alot older.
I'm assuming you mean men's boots, like working boots?

Steer clear of Shout by the Train Station. Also avoid Mood which is in Xscape. Both are terrible.
Lloyds, Opus and Buddha Blue are all around the Theatre.
Oceana, Moon Under Water, and First Base are all inside Xscape.
Secklow 100, All Bar One, and The Living Room are all between the Centre:MK and the Train Station.
TBH I'd start at Secklow 100, then move your way up towards the Theatre District, possibly into Lloyds, then onto Oceana.
Don't wear trainers!

Reckon they'll be ok with fancy dress as some people might wear trainers as part of their outfit?

Should be good. We did fancy dress one Xmas and it went down a treat. We ended up in Revolution; if you are after somewhere that will deffo let you in.

Well like i say we have people coming from all over, Manchester, Newcastle, Scotland, Wales etc... so dont want to let people down and say fancy dress, then not be let in anywhere.
So where abouts is Revolution? Are all the pubs/clubs quite close together between Centre and Train Station?

Revs is in Xscape. I went dressed as a Ghostbuster, and they let me in
Everything is withing a 2/3 miles stretch. Between the Train Station and the Theatre.

Shout is a meat market
Ive never been allowed in Opus!
Mood is... well, moody - too much attitude in there.
Oceana is ok, again the doormen can be a bit picky.
Lloyds is good, but very very busy. Terrible for getting to the bar.
Buddha Blue is ok, only been in there once though.

Shout is horrible Go there if you want sex, with something resembling a moose.

It's because of the £16 entry or whatever it is and a free bar all night, as much as you can drink. It attracts all the local scag heads.

I had a pikey bloke in there stalking me once, talking about the gym and how much i lift etc, then started asking how hard can i punch. Either he was brewing for a scrap or was grooming me to participate in some pikey bare knuckle event

Northampton is brilliant for a night out and only up the road from MK. The bars are of much better quality. NB's sports bar is good, large outside area with a bar too and when i went they had a BBQ going all night.

I was always told Fridays are better than Saturdays in Northampton. If this is not the case, i will have to try a Saturday night
