Seen a few of these about for decent prices, the mk4 2.8 V6. Anyone know what they are like, any good?

jr will say they're slow and gay, SVM 286 will say they're the best thing ever.
Or the other way round, I can never remember
I'd have one, even if they are a bit thirsty.

The 4motion has a 2.8 VR6 with a 24v head, the 'VR6' was a 2.8 12v and made less power.
The 4motion has the better engine.

Oh right was this at the time Audi and VW had separate 2.8 V6's in their cars for some strange reason?

Audi's 2.8 was a proper V6, with 30 valves in 2 seperate heads, the VW version has one head.
Then Audi started using it in 3.2 litre form in the TT, then the A3 etc.

Are you joking?
Having driven one regularly I think they are brilliant cars, and would have one in a flash, if it werent for the petrol prices, it was extremely greedy.
