been thinking about this a lot lately..
as im building a new project corsa, i was thinking of going all out and getting a silly spec LET engine pushing 350+BHP but it got me thinking.. yeah i can have all the power in the world (just look at that 600+BHP Astra) but i wont be able to put the power down...

so i got my cogs turning and have come up with the following options.

1.6 with TBs
2.0 XE with TBs
2.0 LET (250BHP)
2.5 V6.... dont really know a great deal about these. Assume its a pretty torquey engine ? but would they be much use on track / drag ??

or some other mystical setup i dont know about (Yes i saw that white supercharged corsa at PVS.. but think that would cost too much)

My head would be with the LET or V6.

LET but then you've been down that path before.

I'd love to do a V6.

only thinking this cos there are more and more LET corsas around these days. Although the power delivery of a turbo is very just get thrown into the back of your seat

plus the tsshhhh noise makes me cream

me personally would say throttle bodies over turbo, however you need to know what you want to use the car for

work out what route the car is going then pick an engine to suit.

Steve if you fit anything other then a LET you'll probably regret it and moan about the lack of power

well its only going to be used as a weekend car / track / drag..

track on occasion as its mainly going to be drag (dont ask why but i really like drag racing)

the car is gonna be pretty stripped and light weight. the only difference between this and most other track/drag corsas is that its going to look pretty so i wont want to crash it

Nic's 440bhp Corsa LET manages to get the power down pretty well on the 1/4 mile Steve, but he has a quaiffe lsd, really grippy tyres, and launches in second gear

id do a 2ltr xe on throttle bodies and nitrous then, proven to work well and beats many big power lets on the 1/4 mile.

Indeed! But iirc it gets low 12's and a terminal of about 125 so it isn't shy
