Watching that actually makes me cry...
I was sooo close to having a Mk2 about a year ago, then i blew it!!
I'd do anything for one.
Edit: Look at the dish on that X-pack RS2000... My spunk just spunked itself!

I'm SO glad you've finally seen this Jimbo.
I had no idea this was on youtube.
This is the bit I told you about ages ago at work, that i've got on tape somewhere, recorded from the original broadcast.
If I remember correctly, one of the chaps at the beginning is Lee Allan who used to race in the Vecta Fast Ford series. His Dad and Uncle own Truck Align and he did the cornerweights on the Turbo at Truck Align about ten years ago.
Another one appears to be Russel Clarke who also raced in the Vecta series and was (probably still is) a race instructor at Brands. He fitted the improved gear selector and the boost gauge on the Turbo even longer ago and did some fettling with one of it's early power upgrades.

It did 175 with short gearing. With the high speed/long course gearing it could crack 200 mph.
Always thought it was criminal putting that oven door in the roof of a perfectly good MK II, never mond an RS. And putting X-Pack arches on an otherwise sound car that is a genuine RS and didn't go on sale new, as an X-Pack car, is not much better.
Still a cracking little motor though.

Oh, and RUD 1T from that feature is the black RS used in the garage scene in the Rocky themed gay 'RS2000' advert.

I love all the Steve Berry clips, there's one on there for John Dodd's 'the beast' with him. He was awesome, they need him back TBH.

Oh, and I met Bailey at his premises in the middle of fucking nowhere about 13 years ago when Rob and I went to pick something up for the Turbo. It was a right dump. On some shoddy filthy old wooden work bench were a load of the tanks and things he'd just commissioned and then stamped his name in.
Got to see his freshly unbent and rebuilt white Sapphire on Hockenheim R's though, along with the RS 2000 parked by his barn looking very very sorry for itself indeed. It was filthy dirty and mossy with four flat tires, no seats, matt paintwork, and dull pitted alloy on the wheels. I think there was some rust too.

Sort of.
The car was BMX 1 1T
Automex in London, (bit of a bunch of c*nts really and the people that built Jim's RS 2000) had their own development car. It was an absolutely pristine black Custom on polished 7.5/13s with an all steel, dry sumped 2.4 Pinto running 50s and N2O injection. I think it ended up with a Warrior twin cam head too.
Fast and loud as fuck by all accounts.
