On a more serious note...
306td.... they're supposed to be pretty reliable if they've been reguarly serviced etc.
And others...
Old Escort diesel, 106 1.5D... had one of those for a bit, so cheap to run its stupid.

Fiesta 1.25 engines are a bit rubbish imo. Less mpg than a 1.4 (not Fiesta), and because of the Zetec it puts the insurance group up.

i just sold a 1 litre seat arosa for £1100, w reg, 38000 miles full history, only group 2 insurance.
not a bad little car, very cheap to run and basically a vw lupo
