Avro Vulcan

this one beeing XH558, which has been restored to flight, needs a few more tests to get its CAI (iirc) license, and then it can do the air show circuit again, its last one beeing in 1992, which i was at

Well worth Visiting BTW if you're in the Telford/Birmingham Area at any point. It's only about 45 min run from Birmingham (on a good day), and ot's completely free - no charges for parking or entrance, though obviously a donation wouldn't hurt (though I even expected people to push donations but they didn't).

You don't get an appreciation for how big some of the planes are until your standing underneath the Vulcan's open bomb doors!

I have been in the one at cosford when i was on my fitters course in the RAF

They have one where I learn to fly. They drive it up and down the runway at high speed and let the nosewheel lift off then they have to stop. Last time they did it was two weeks ago and I was circling overhead at the time
