People used to boast about 0-60 times, power, performance. Now its all mpg blah blah
Do people really care that much about it?

doesnt overly bother me like that, if you want any sort of decent power then mpg is generally poor anyways. unless your tuning a denzel

Well Yes if they are doing lots of miles and/or are tight on cash.
I must admit a 'performance' diesel is really starting to appeal to me.
Especially with the new tax pricing thats going to hit us next year.
Quite like the look of a Fabia vRS

Do you recon in a couple years they'll maybe replace the rev counter with an accurate mpg-ometer as folk will get major para about fuel consumption

I get about 45 in mine, which is quite shit considering im in a diesel & on the motorway, however I dont really care too much I love to stick the boot down. Id get similar in a 1L driving like miss daisy so stand by my choice of buying an oil cooker

Mine has one I wouldnt say its highly accurate though it gives an indication.
What about a cock-ometer, tells you how much of a cock you've been driving like & how many trees you've killed.

I never get anywhere near what other people claim they get in any car i've had.
Fabia got 37mpg if i was lucky, so far the clio has given me 32 if i'm lucky but less if i want to go fast at all.
Regarding accuracy, I found the fabia computer to be miles out but from what I can tell the clio one is just about bang on, which it should be considering it knows exactly how much fuel is being injected and how many miles it travels.

Couldn't have put it better if I tried.
Got rid of a nice powered car for a 1.2 clio. Rather happy I did.
