Why is it proving so hard to get a good "sporty"car for this price...

right ive bin looking at:

pug 106 gti's
172's? at a push
1.6 corsa sport's (already have a 1.4 sport)
golf's
mg tf's

want summat sub 8 seconds 0-60mph, abit of fun, that can handle well and can take on a track (the ring) give me some ideas...or find me a 106 gti with sub 70k on the clock

scrabble wagon

seriously, I would look at older cars that have been cherished rather than newer cars with higher miles and cheaper that have been butt Fu*ked by every boy racer and his mates.

i agree but wots out there??? lol has to be easy to live with as its a daily runner... that 205 is lovely! but turbo cars scare me...warm up...cool down...dont think it wud be fuctional...thought of a 205 gti or a mark 1 or 2 golf...gotta be low mileage ones though

When do you want this car? You can have my car once I'm back from nurburgring.

I'll be going travelling and probably getting something sensible on my returns. I'll let it go cheap just because I can't be arsed to explain what all the mods are to some chav who hasn't a clue.

I'd split it for parts as it'd be worth a fair packet in bits, but I'm too lazy.

from reading and seeing your exploits on here paul i would not be at all surprised if you get round the ring quicker than me. I have no intention of driving the usual 110% like i would do at Oulton or my fav country road through fear of finding one of the massivly overpriced barriers

But im sure the speed and handling of the vx though you wouldnt need to drive 110 %

Fair play for driving to the ring in that! You have quiet alot of england to get through aswell never mind over seas!
