well i went to pick up my new car yesterday, Punto GT Turbo
i towed my car down to save on the petrol as i was towing the punto back up as it has no mot
on the way down just before the motorway one of the ratchet straps nearly split in 2 so the corsa pulled to the side but didnt damage anything or anyone.
i drove the corsa the rest of the way.
we finaly got there are a few hours of driving and got the punto set op on the A Frame,
this is when the shit happened, 30 mile from home on a road with loadsa road works and traffic cones one of the ratchet straps snapped.
i couldnt leave the car in the middle of the road works at 1am so had to drive it, only drove it for about 5-10 mile whent he police pulled me
i explained what happened and he understood why i drove it and seemed a nice enough guy but he had to do me for no tax, no mot and no insurance
i know you cant get points for mot or tax but its either 3 or 6 points for no insurance
i havent been driving for more then 2 years so if i get 6 im fucked
what do you guys reckon i will get, hopefully only 3 and some fines
what a cock up yesterday was

ooh dear...
you can dispute it at court..just so your driving a little bit longer then by time it goes to court..you would have had your license long enough to have 12 points ...

in the statement i gave it said that i only drove the car because it would have been sat in the middle of a busy road with roadworks and it wasnt exactly safe
the policeman says it dosent look as bad with the ratchet strap snapping
the a frame is in the back of the punto (along with a GT2 engine) so if the ask i can show them the straps

Obviously you need to present your mitigation but I wouldn't say that is looking good for your licence.

On the brightside though IF you do loose your license through picking up 6 points you arnt banned, that means you can do the test right away and get back to some sort of normality, that wont look good for the insurance though
I know its not much but Id say a ban was worse than having it revoked
round here its very very common that no insurance is £200 and 6 points

yeah if i did have to lose it id rather get the 6 points than a ban
i can only see what happens, it wasnt as if i was out joyriding it or anything
