Ok, I've been out of the country for a year and now i'm back it appears no one insures under 25 year olds to "drive other vehicles".
With my old policy i was covered third party on any other vehicle (providing i had the owners permition). But now it seems no one offers this to under 25's. I'm only 21, does anyone know of insurers that offer this cover?
Also, when did this happen?

There were a lot of cases of people insuring say a mini then driving a Cossie around, so that's why they pulled the plug.

I never ever had this privilege to drive other cars on my policy until last renewal which incidentally was just after turning 25. I never asked for it either as im insured as a named driver FC on every policy I need to drive (mine, jades, Old mans). Must just be a rule between many of them.

Id never heard of it among younger people, my old mans always been able to drive mine 3rd party. None of my mates under 25 had it on their insurance.
tbh I can see where it could become subject to abuse quite easilly!!

Yip definitely.
I'm one of these people who likes to be just about legal in respect to things like that though so only drive cars when I have to.
Mainly parents and gf's and others in emergencys, thats when it's handiest.

Its handy to have without a doubt, though I wouldnt particularly like to be driving a car valued more than I could pay back out my piggy bank TPFT only.
Id be fucked if I smashed my old mans Audi....wrote it off in a moments stupidity. Where would I get £20k from for a new one - that would be going round my had driving it & the reason im a named driver on his policy as I do have a tendancy to nick his car quite regularly.
