Your engine will blow up and the imoboliser won't work.

was thinking this...but isn't a blown engine fairly immobilised anyway?

I'm guessing it'll be well worth the money mate, I got a 100 quid postal remap and it was great.

diesel posta remap is risky, whan you have petrol and ignition advance to play with........
How the hell do they know how far to advance the ignition timing before you get det, and if they are advancing it, how do they find minimum best timing

I gather you mean how can the Map my car without running it and fueling it etc at the same time?

I guess they have done a remap on a standard car of the same model and remembered the figures etc so they car provide a generic remap. But I know Shit about cars

Tbh id like to know if im going to be making a mistake here. the chap thats doing it is a friend of the family and i dont think he'd cause me/my car any harm. he knows his stuff, and has done hundreds of remaps, and never had any problems.

Correct, thats why its so cheap, but if the map wasnt yet available then it would need to be set up etc on a dyno. (i think)

not going to comment any more on generic maps, but think about this.
I have remapped around 10-12 z20let engines, first one I did I made a base map and tweeked that to suit that engine. I then pulled 3 degrees of timing from the finished map and saved that as a safe base map.
I used this 'safe' base map in another engine a few weeks later and it ran perfectly well, so a few tweeks to suit that engine, all was done.
used the same safe base map on another couple of engines but they suffered slight det under load, the crank trigger wheels are not massively precise and it turned out that the ones that suffered from det were between 2 and 4 degrees out compared to other ones I had mapped so in effect the engine was seeing 4 degrees TOO MUCH ignition timing which is what caused the det.
Generic maps often overcome this issue by not making changes to the ignition advance, just the fuel and boost which means its only half a remap as the biggest gains of the engines power is in the ignition timing mapping.
best bet, get the car on a good dyno, get a power output, fuel graph and a boost graph, do the remap and then go back, see what the changes are in fuelling and boost and get them to check the high load low RPM sites and the high load high rpm sites with some det cans attatched.

To give an idea, this is my fueling over the rev range. You can see were it is too lean. So the remap guy can now see what needs to be done to the fueling.
Now if they can't see this............... what can they do? What if one of your injectors isn't squirting right.
There is a reason why it costs more. They do more. In the long run the engine will still be fine. Will it with this guys map?

why would a engine blow because its runnin 150 the pistons in the x16 are rated for 220bhp n head n cams etc 180 bhp so i cant see any danger ............n that guys 101bhp corsa sucks thats less than standerd

You can blow an engine while running less than standard power, especially on a turbo engine. Power output rarely kills an engine, incorrect fuelling or ignition can

It'll be power at the wheel, which translates to around 125bhp at the flywheel.
