Just printed an assignment, the only assignment for the module, at it's over 64 pages long this includes the Appendix, so all evidence collected etc, so not strictly speaking 64 pages of my drivel.
BUT, this was a module with 'stupid' weekly contribution thing, which is then submitted as one assignment as a Progress Portfolio.
I had no idea it'd come to so many pages, and I'd have never been able to produce something so extensive without being told to do it weekly, and have to get each contribution signed each week to prove attendance.
Going for a big fat A on this one

Great to get the load off your back

I printed the 2 copies of my 130 page computer science project report and then had no time to celebrate as exams started rediculously early a week after hand in date
As such I've still not had the feeling of 'having nothing to do'
Tommorrow is my last exam 3rd year...
So, after tommorrow I'm free now that will be a strange feeling

I must ad this is for Year 2 as well.
However all 6 modules from this year, will be going towards my final grade.
Already got A's and B's, so if I pull my finger out next year and do a good dissertation, I might get a 1:1

I won't have nothing to do, as of about 1:30pm on Friday 6th June. I can walk around PVS with no worries or a care in the world.
Apart from getting work and money

158 pages - how many words does that equate to?
Pretty sure ours isn't that big, better not be anyway.
I have no idea how you go about tackling that sort of thing - I guess a little bit every so often. I can do about 2k words in a day with keeping on track and being focused. So 158 pages could take a while

I did just over 17000 words, but i had about 20+ engineering drawings in an appendix aswell. The space got taken up by a fair few diagrams to be honest.

Yeah, I think our dissertation is approximately 10k words, so not too bad.
In all honestly, Year 2 has been easier than Year 1 for me, and I'm getting better grades. The work load definitely hasn't been so great, but in terms of actual easyness, it may be due to I've learnt more and progressing etc.

"Very good work. Good inspection outcomes, excellent test cases. Good assumptions. A delight to read. 84%
Beat the hell out of my course mates one of my mates got 69 and the other only 60%

This is no joke... but the actual message read
"Very good work. Good inspection outcomes, excellent test cases. Good assumptions. A delight to read, but use lists more - please!" 84%
I guess you're right tom, even my lecturer gets pissed off with my essays.
1 bit asked for a list of items, but i gave big paragraphs about each He'll love marking my exam.

One of our lecturers said don't use lists/bullet points.
Another said to.
We can't win at our Uni. I'll just do my thing that I've always done - got me this far and good grades so must do something right
Anyway, 1 more assignment. Write about 5 films, each about 700 words, so won't be too bad.
Then a group presentation, which we have ages to prepare for

films? please tell me you're not doing media studies?
My mate graduated media studies at Brunel 2 years ago, got a 1st! Still unemployed, all his old course mates are in the same position.
Media jobs seem to rely on foots in the door rather than degrees.
But obviously if you enjoy it, it's good to learn

Marketing & Media Practices.
So it's actually more geared towards advertising, PR and the like. But what the 'Media Practices' part gives is more theoretical, i.e. studying films, not making them. So this knowledge will be of major advantage when trying to get jobs in agencies etc. It isn't just films mind, but critically interpreting all aspects of the media
Don't worry, currently doing work experience as Marketing Assistant, in contact with our creative design agency, as well as relatives in the field. I'll be sorted, hopefully

nice to see you're doing it for the right reasons too
I hate so many people who go to uni and choose to do a 'doss' course not to get a job at the end of it, but because they want to have fun at uni.
My mate for example did like Horticulture or something... hardly had any work, modules or exams. Those he did have weren't taxing and spent his time going out, playing xbox or pissing about the house.
Then since it's final year, he's like 'I'm applying to this job and that job' - I'm like 'hang on, how is that related to your degree?'
"Oh I didn't choose to do this degree to have a career in it, I just did it because I'm interested in it and wanted to have fun at uni"

I commute to Uni, so was never doing the degree for fun and the 'Uni life'.
I am doing it 100% for the reason of getting the degree and furthering my knowledge. Business & Media is something I've always been good at and had a flare for. So I guess you could say I'm one of the 'genuine' business/media degree students

Probably get into 2nd year if you've done things prior, ie I could get into some 2nd/3rd yr engineering courses with what ive already done.
