Iv just had a mini lecture off my dad as he seems to think i dont save much
I mean i bring home under 1k a month but i dont have that many outgoings, ie gym, phone and car insurance and house keep, Just dont know where the rest goes
I dont want figures as thats your own buisiness but in comparison to your wage do you think you save well?
God dam dads put me on a proper downer bout it

I save too much tbh. But....it'll all come to good use some time soon
I put away about 80% or my wage once my bills are done
I do have a life too BTW
Edit - to be fair, i put it down to my up bringing. My parents have always been very careful with money and taught me well in the process.

I have savings from when I used to be able to afford to transfer money in to my savings accounts. At the moment I don't tend to save. Some months I manage to spend very little though which helps me to not end up short at the end of the month.

AK, you could look at your properties as "savings accounts" though

I usually try to max out my yearly Isa quota but apart from that nothing else at the minute, thinking a 2nd property is going to be the way to go.

200 a week! i dont even have that a week after iv payed me bills! think im really gonna start thinking what i spend my money on! i dont really go out mon-fri though, and i dont drink ever weekend, really do know where it goes
Aaron, im in the same situation as you as my mum and dad have never owed bar there morgage and even thats paid now, and my sister and her bf save 1k a month between the 2 of them and they have 2 cars an a 130k morgage. So saving is very much emphasised what they talk to me

Thats only cause im saving for my holiday, that will be for the next 7 - 8 weeks
at the mo I make roughly the same as you but I have exams to pass in 3 weeks and I should then get a 300% pay rise
I get nearly 100 quid a week just off scrap copper so thats what I live off

Never have less than ~£1200 in my bank account, for a 'rainy day' I guess.
I don't spend much of what I earn and when my missus goes to uni I'll spend even less.
To me its upbringing too, My folks have no debt and no mortgage but they're both blue collar and work hard for what they have I wanna be that way too.

Im rubbish at saving !
but i like to see what i have spent my money on though!!.. ive sacrificed no clothes shopping to fund my car!!!!
I need to get to a point and stop buying stuff for my car so i can save for a deposit on a house in the year 2050 - at this rate

Do it John, eventually you forget about it and then the money is just building up with decent interest and then before you know it its like a tax-free 13th payday
