I work in the licensed trade and it pissed me off that people like Alaister Darling can put up taxes on alcohol which makes it more expensive for us to buy in pushing us to put prices up on the bar!
Places like tescos are killing off pubs in the uk as 27 pubs are closing each week due to a fall in trade!!
Many are drinking cheaper booze (which i can't blame them) bought from tescos etc then hitting the town later at nite meaning they dont have to spend as much. But we as licenced retailers are losing out due to this

Carlsberg export is nae bad. I hate them stupid little bottles though they are gone in 2 swigs 
I would never give the pub up  I lovez it I doez.

same with farmers etc. BUT at the end of the day im not a farmer and i dont run a pub so im all for it.

Different if you work in this industry and you see the effects believe me ive seen people losing their jobs through redunancy and closure
Its not all down to cheap drinks tho the smoking ban and later licensing laws havent helped either!!
Cheap price tho, even tho i dont think tescos should be allowed to do it i think they encourage binge drinking!

Sainsbury's a while back were doing 20 bottles of Becks for £10. That's 50p/bottle, when in my local it's £2.80/bottle. No wonder I don't go down there much.

It's not about the beer it's about the being in the pub with your mates and other people having a laugh imo.
Although I drink alot of it while i'm there
My local has an offer on miller msd or whatever at the minute £1.25 a bottle but i usually drink about 8 bottles of magners before moving on instead

Oh yeah, I don't dispute that. But when your mates are all off at Uni and there is no-one down there you really know, then home is much more appealing
I'm such a loner.
