I cant skateboard ATALL but snowboarding is brilliant.
You feel like your going faster than you actually are cos of the smooth surface.
Watch out for the posh pricks on Ski's.

Not too much different tbh
Most of the control is done by your front foot. If you go down left foot first...its pressure on your toes to turn right and pressure on your heel to turn left.
Keep legs bent at all times to avoid catching en edge which will have you on your face or ass before you have time to think about it

You don't sound too much like an ignorant punter at all

Fixed feet, longer boards, changed dynamics. Identical balance requirement.
I Snowboard goofy and skated goofy but did tricks on skateboard regular - never figured out why really!

Sounds pretty much like skateboarding just without the wheels

It's not something that you can just pick up on your own like skateboarding, you'll definately need some instruction Enjoy, I'm sure you'll get hooked!!!

Rude awakening springs to mind. You'll spend 90% of your time on your arse.

A lot of the instructors at Tamworth are pretty much un-qualified, it's too busy and they don't throw people off who don't know what they are doing.

I never really take any notice when I go there to be honest. I've been going there for 3 years now and when I go throughout the summer i'm usually the only person on the slope, which is great for getting your carving up to scratch but not a whole lot of fun
