What happens when everybody stops spending?? I’m a plumber who does mainly new builds and our main contractor basically tells us like each week that someones gone bust or no houses are being sold that need to be or jobs are being put on hold. You hear on the radio that people have less money to spend etc, fuel prices keep climbing, we’re being taxed more and more, banks are running out of money. Where does it end? What happens when people have no money to spend freely? Do all the hairdressers/plumbers/bus drivers/club and pub staff etc stop working because theres no work to do? I could go on.
I really don’t see how the government can fix this as they don’t want to give any money back or lower taxes by any great sum. Jobs fucked… I’m off somewhere warmer… if only I had more money…
What are your views? What have you noticed?

Yep banks have lent too much out and not enough coming back in, so banks are having to lend of each other at a high interest rate. Its a joke really, wages stay the same yet the cost of living goes up numerous times a year.We pay tax for lazy fuckers to sit on their arse all day, yet there is thousands of jobs which are took my asylum(sp) seekers. This country is too soft. This are only going to get worse imo.

i cant think of anyone i know who has had a job taken by an asylum seeker, i think thats an excuse people use to not find a decent job, how many asylum seekers do you think earn more than 15K a year, not many. only ones i know are the ones my dads mate hires as no english people will work the hours and as hard, but they get paid very well for it tho.
EDIT : (the ones my dads mates use are pols, so technically not asylum seekers, but fellow EU memebers)

You obviously dont have a trade
If you have a british plumber who demands 25 - 35k a year then a polish worker comes and works for half that cause its probably two maybe 3 times more than he would get in his own country,
He works, gets a years worth of work, earns his money then fucks off back to poland to spend the fantastic years wage he just earned
were as the british plumber is being called a rip off merchant for charging double what the polish bloke charged,
so in the end you have a polish bloke with 3X more money than he would have earned usually to spend in poland were its cheap as..
the british bloke has less money to spend in this fucking rip off shop

Well unless i said "polish asylum seekers" theres no reason to think that.Asylum seekers come over here, get housing, every benefit out there, and take our jobs while uk people are left on the dole, funded by the working people and you have Gordon Brown complaining too many people are on the dole. That was more my point.

The cost of living has risen, but people are always going to need plumbers. If a pipe bursts, then you ain't going to leave it are you? Its more the luxury side of things you are going to cut back on so you can afford the essentials.
