Bloody hell for some reason i just thought you were getting a 206 Gti I'm half asleep! Time for bed I think.

Standard wise, they're not slow. A standard xe corsa beats them though

You can get decent power from them without spending too much. Bigger turbo, forge intecooler, jabbasport induction, fmic, and turbo exhaust + a remap. You'd be looking at decent power.

Xe's Beat them?

and to think i was looking at this as a more sensible option to the LET's

Oh well, Yea the 206 GTi in my pic is mine but im bored of it it's only the 136bhp model and i've thrashed the life out of it pretty much lol

how much wopuld i be looking at spending on the above mods and for what kind of gains? do golfs handle well ?

Miltek do a full exhaust system for around £300 for it I think.
ko3s turbo - £200ish
Jabba Induction - £200
Intercooler - No idea on prices, anything from £500 to £100 I guess
Remaps - Custom Code do mk4 golf turbo's, think their stage one is about £300

Sounds like a lot of money, but its a lot more power.

Give Jas a u2u on here, he's got a ibiza cupra (same engine) and he pretty much has those mods, so ask him what power he's giving out, think that should take it to 240, but don't quote me

Robin has a mk4 golf turbo on here too. Give him a u2u mate

Off to bed now

Revo tecnik do a stage 1 remap for £340 and it will tune increase it to 190bhp and 225 lb/torque, pretty good increase in power for the money.

Heres the link

if you have the 150 model you will get approx 200BHP max from a remap

If you are lucky enough to get a Ko3S turbo you might get 210 BHP max

Realistically the engine will tune to about 220 BHP before serious cash is required

Plus stay away from REVO IMO

Go to awesome GTI its near you and get the APR map

My mate has one on his S3 and he has had no trouble and delivers the power like the OEM map but more of it

Very capable engines imo.

Obviously the 150bhp ones are going to have trouble with xe corsas as its the same power but the corsa will weigh less, but once you have a remap they may beat you off the line but they wont get very far .

You will probably have an AGU engine code which means you have the bigger ports on the head. They also come with the k03 turbo which will get you just shy of 200bhp when remapped. A ko3s on the agu engine should get around 220 maybe a little bit more with a few other mods.

You wont get much more over that without a bigger turbo. if you want more power than that then i'd leave the ko3s and either get a k04 or save up for a big turbo conversion.

The engines will be fine to run just under 300 on standard internals after this you should look at getting uprated parts.

Handling i will admit they are not the most inspiring, although i dont think my anni handles too bad, but they came with diff suspension to the gti's.

yes the conrods are the weakest aprt of the engine so 300BHP/300ilbs/ft are the mimit on standard internals although you will be throwing alot of money at your car to achieve that from 150 BHP

people are forgetting other costs involved with upgrading to a bigger turbo... if your going k04 then a custom downpipe and some sort of manifold are needed, bigger brakes, only option really is brembos for the R, people seem to think modding the 1.8t is cheap... id say its far from it

If you go for bigger brakes the octavia vrs brakes are a good upgrade, same as some of the tt/s3 models and the same that came on the anni turbos. but I often see them going a bit cheaper due to them being skoda, even though they are the same. (only downside is they will be painted green )

in standrad from the car is quite capable of managing 200 BHP

Brakes are the only thing I would consider
