Right I have owned 2 MR2 turbos, I like to mess around with cars. I currently own a 1.6 Corsa B after I had to sell my MR2 GTS to pay off credit cards etc.
Otherwise I wouldn't be on this site, and I would still have the MR2 GTS.
I have done a bit to the corsa as I like to modify cars, main mods being full suspension kit/exhaust and alloys.
Here's the thinking - I could spend a shit load of money on tuning the 1.6 which would make it fairy nippy, I have half a grand saved up but I keep thinking "end of the day it's only a Corsa, what's the point? Why not carry on saving and get another MR2 turbo or a skyline GTS/scooby etc" something that is RWD and meant to have a turbo engine fitted.
Anybody else think like this? My car is and always will be a shopping trolley corsa. Nothing more.
Opinions?

yeah mate i agree with you, i dont have a massive amount of money, i think after all the usual mods, alloys, lowering it, etc its just throwing your money away,
Save up and get a nice car, or the way i see it (i do live with the rents so your situation might be different) but all the extra money i have laying around goes in an isa ready for a deposit on a flat.
Everyone is different, but with a car the next MOT could be its last, lol

yep, all the time.
you can spend thousands tuning cars, at the end of the day if you really really like your corsa spend money on it. otherwise you plough continuous money into cars and you wont see a good return.
or you could buy a high powered car leave it standard have a good reliable, fast car.
but then theres no individualism that most car modders crave imo.

At the end of the day, its your money to decide what you want to do with it. If you want to blast it on the Corsa, then do so. If your deffinately set on wanting another car, then save it.

Think my mind is made up. I'll just drive the corsa around till I have enough money saved to buy something else jap/turbo/rwd.
As mentioned it will always just be a shopping trolley and to be fair I can't be arsed ploughing money into it.
I'll save up for a while longer and whack the car on ebay

Nope, I enjoy messing about with whatever car it is I have at the time.
I know I'm throwing money away, but I have no other major outgoings, it's something I enjoy, so why not?
The amount I've spent over the years, I could have bought a 'better' car, but that would have been less fun.

Fair comments Robin, I'm the same. The amount of money I spent on those MR2s combined, I could have probably bought an R34 GTR
But with the corsa it seriously lacks that thrown back in your seat I got from the MR2. (I never expected it to mind) But I want to mess around with a car that is fast enough in the first place Hence why I can't be bothered with the corsa anymore.

Cheers fellas, lol @ Timbaland
it was stunning, got 3K for that. Ended up back on ebay 2 weeks after I'd sold it with black soot all over the rear bumper and a dig dent in the door
Sold that because it was a base MK2 MR2 with a rev 1 turbo engine fitted and I wanted a fresh import so I ordered one. 4 months later I had the black one, which I had resprayed from red to black

I wouldn't have done it through choice.
