Really does depend on whether it's been serviced properly and throughly.

Bloody high mileage for a 4 year old car though

if its been looked after it may be a good buy.

it may even still have the dual controls, that would be fun

It's an ex driving instructors car, hence the mileage. It should have been serviced correctly. FVSH, thats a good sign.

I'd buy the fucker.

hmm seem to have mixed opinion, the guy says he has had 6 calls since last night about it (obv he is a salesman), its 50 miles away so dunno if its worth wasting a trip over there, we have been saying though we need to get rid of this escort

That is very very cheap for one. Sure its high milage but its a diesel. It should have a few more years left yet.

Lower milage examples are worth more than double (5-6K) that so its a very good price imo.

I'd go for it, but as its an ex driving school car, check if its had another clutch at some point, as I would imagine it would have needed one somewhere along the way, or will do soon.

Any modern car that's been properly serviced should be able to see 250k. But there are other things like wear and tear on the interior and bodywork that I would be looking out for...

my driving inst had a 07 renault clio, already had the whole gearbox changed, personally i think the thought of alot of young girls grinding the gears etc would put me off, also how long has it been used as a driving instructors cas

I would buy it.

It will have never been ragged, but the clutch might be one the way out being an instructor car.

Just don't rag it and it'll do the same mileage again.

Think aswell though, been a driving instructors car, it may well have been bumped A LOT. Took me 5 month to pass my test, and my instructor's car was crashed by his students 3 times, and then when i passed it came to my work twice after that for repairing.

I wouldn't even have put it up to debate, it is high milage yes but they are genuine milage and diesel engines can go on forever and a day basically .

And a whole new turbo unit is a positive there!

But would deffinatly be worth a look just to suss out the interior and bodywork as it was a learning car!

end of the day if its that gooder price then engine goes pop another second hand one in............. will still work out cheaper than 4-5k on lower milage one

Thanks for the opinions, not going to go for it just yet, would mean spending all savings on it so will wait a bit longer i think.....especially if anything does go wrong with straight away no money to fix it = no car
