Didnt know this untill i was watching a car show on TV this morning..
Ferruccio Lamborghini owned a factory manafacturing tractors. He had bought a Ferrari 250GT and was unhappy with the reliability of the clutch and how it performed.
He requested to meet Enzo Ferrari (Founder of Ferrari) to vent his frustration with his unhappy purchase.
Apparently Enzo was very ignorrant regarding the complaint and basically told him to fuck off and 'Drive tractors cos he cant drive cars'.
Ferruccio returned to his factory and dismantled his 250GT clutch to find the clutch was supplied by the same people who supplied him clutches for his tractors. he replaced the clutch for a stronger one from his factory and it solved the clutch failure.
Annoyed with the arrogance of Enzo, Ferruccio vowed to never own another Ferrari and beat Enzo at his own game.
And thats how Lambo came around , thanks to Enzo and his arrogance we have this........

He didnt intend on selling any to begin with , he just wanted to prove he was better than Enzo.
Cant help but think Enzo got owned.
I'd rather a Lambo than a Ferrari anyday.

Plus they still build tractors now afaik, there's an imported near Buxton in Derbyshire

Thats not what im getting at mate, The reason Lambo went into the Supercar 'game' is because of the attitude of Enzo's attitude.
Marcedes etc didnt start off like this as far as i know anyway.
If Ferrari hadnt had attitude with Lambo then there may well not have been Lambo Supercars today as Lambo never had any intentions in the car industry untill the issue with Enzo arose.

Ford's main line isnt supercars therefor not rivaling Ferrari.
I see what your saying but its not threatening Ferrari in the way Lambo is.
