My parents asked me if I wanted to go on holiday with them at the end of the summer, I thought why not, never too old for a free holiday
They're trying to decide between Rome or Venice, neither have been to italy before.
Who's been, whats there to do?

Rome is supposed to be really nice. Quite romantic. Not sure you'd be looking for a romantic holiday with your parents though

really nice, and loads of things to see and do during the day, and plenty going on at night too.

My parents have been to both and they reckon Venice is better as it's also near The Lakes, which from the pics they took look fucking lovely! They did enjoy the culture of Rome though.
Win win

I think Venice is the better of the two. Rome is full of prostitutes though for if you get bored.

Venice is a stunning place and I would love to go back and explore it a bit more as I was only there for the day. Never been to Rome but would like to. However my favourite place in Italy would have to be the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and Capri are both stunning places to visit

I was in Rome for 5months last year and it was great.
Whan its warm its fantastic. I can give you the number of a few pub crawls if you wish. Definately worth checking them out.
As for sights, Theres the Colossuem (which is fappin huge), The Vatican City (you kinda HAVE to see it if your in Rome), The Roman Forum and Paletine hille (its where Rome started over 2000 years ago).
If you need more info, gimme a shout mate, i can point you in the direction of many things

My mums lives there now. Shes got residency now.
I was having a rather pants time here so took a break. I was working at the Colosseum through the day, and working on the pub crawl at nights. Kept my mind busy!
Met loadsa cool people and got lots of memories. Shall go back at some point no doubt.
As said, a week is NOT long enough to see it all.
