Touring Car Times said:
Legendary Touring Car racer David Leslie has been killed in a plane crash according to Sky News. Leslie was flying together with Richard Lloyd as their private jet crashed in to a home in Kent. The London Fire Brigade has confirmed that no survivors were found. Fortunately the houses were empty that the plane crashed in to.

Their private Cessna Citation 501 aircraft was headed for France where Leslie was going to drive a Jaguar XKR for Lloyd's Apex Motorsport.

David Lesile successfully competed in the BTCC between the years 1990 and 2003. During his years he scored nine wins, 35 podium finishes and took 16 pole positions. His best year was with Nissan in 1999 when he finished second in the championship behind team mate Laurent Aiello. Leslie's most recent assignment was commentating WTCC for Eurosport.

Richard Lloyd established the very successful Audi Sport UK in 1996, seeing Frank Biela taking the title during his first try. This year Lloyd was working with Apex Motorsport, running a Jaguar XKR GT3.

The TouringCarTimes-staff would like to offer it's condolences to their families.
