What is better overall either a 1.6 sport or saxo vtr? e.g peformance, equipment, insuance etc. Just been looking as pound for pound the saxo seems the better deal (and a little cheaper) so please point me in the right direction!

I would personally say corsa, corsa's don't handle as well but are faster top end.

A mate in work has had both cars, and he preferred the corsa.

I've had a sport, and I couldn't fault it.

Ive owned a 1.4 sport and the insurance on that was quite tyrannical, and was only group 6-7 so why is the vtr the same when it is really in the same league as the 1.6 yet that is insurance group 11.

staright out the box id say a saxo is better BUT as with all 'sporty' vauxhalls a decent suspension upgrade and bit of TLC and the corsa will run rings round it, probably

I think the saxo is a better car for performance, but if it were my money i'd buy a corsa if it was a road car i wanted and not a competition car.

straight line there dead level all the way.

Corner's saxo will kill it.

Equipment there the same.

Insurance i believe saxo is a lower group.

As far as i can see, Saxo wins...

IMO the Corsa feel's more solid though but to me id rather have fun than a car that feels solid..

I thought the sports were quicker than a VTR?

Stock for stock, saxo handles better but once i had mine dropped with shockers to match, saxo wasnt a patch on it!

Vtrs use less fuel ive also found out.

Vtrs are cheaper to run (fuel and insurance) but they feel alot cheaper in the quality. You get what you pay for with these

Phase 2 vtr's are same as a sport, You cant say lower a sport on shocks cause its then not a fair match

A lowered saxo will handle better than a lowered corsa also..

I'd get a VTS if you could push to that. Corsa and Saxo are equally as cheap and shit, regardless of people kidding themselves on here. If you want a solid car, buy a BMW.

I'd still choose a VTR over a sport tho.

If you want a solid car that is totally overpriced and is going to cost you £5000 a year to run, buy a BMW, there expensive so you will be getting an older second hand model which if something goes wrong will cost you mega money to this proves my point that I speak shite.

My mate had a VTR and the build quality was shocking. bodykit falling off etc.

Not keen on the interior either.

Probably down to it being crashed, not due to the car. The amount of corsa's i see with arch's not fitting properly and gaps under headlight, above headlight, its all due to bumps.
