One of the new members on the forum is Doldy, He is my dads gfs lad.

Any how, he wants a weekend car, and having seen my 2ltr corsa, decided he wants one. Im going to rebuild the engine for him. Once thats ready we will source a corsa to put it in.

18/02/08:

Doldy took a trip to pick up a c20xe, f20, loom and ecu. Turns up with manifold, ICV, Coil and ECU missing. But as the seller is a friend of a friend, the rest of the bits should be here soon.

22/02/08:

I took a trip home, removed the alternator, inlet etc, then removed the head. I then took the head to work, so i can strip it while at work

23/02/08:

Went into work while i waited for the better half to get up and removed a few valves.

The next steps:

Remove remainder of valves
Remove stem seals
Steam clean/De grease Head
Take head to be skimmed
Clean up valves and lap in
Refit valves

That should keep me busy when works slack

Finally an update:

Well after inspection of the head, i found that around cylinder 4, the coolant gallery had rotton away so much it was nearly through to the valves, and it was passed the line of old head gasket, so it would never seal. So we now need a head.

But.... The rebuild parts have arrived, this is the little collection:

As the head was facked in our first c20xe, plus the ECU was missing aswel as the exhaust manifold and ICV, and we broke the rocker cover :S ! I have just brought another " C20XE WITH COSCAST HEAD, LOOM, ECU, SHAFTS, INLET, EXHAUST, F20 BOX" This with a bit of luck should come to my door on Wednesday. Depends on how quick -crossleyvxr- sends it!

nice work dan. We will have to check it is an early type, or have to swap some of the parts if they will. Much better choice of engine any way. We can break that other for what we paid for it.

The best update so far is that we actually have the corsa to work on now! Just brought it, more pics coming soon...

Its a 1.4 Corsa Sport, 2000, got all the gear like PAS, AirCon, ABS, And even a twin exhit exhaust ...

Had 4 previous owners, the last one being a 65 year old woman, and the one before her being her 72 year old brother lol

You say coilovers, but I don't see coilovers in the pic with the suspension in.
