was at beardys yesterday and was showing him how runny my oil was but there was none left

so he topped me up and then he noticed that oil was running from inbetween the 2 half of my inlet

i love the guy who has "rebuilt my engine" twice

ever thought of taking it to another guy? or taking the guy whos rebuilt your engine twice to court for bad workmanship! (if your within your rights that is)

He only took it back cos it was under warranty from the first time he got it done, I think that lasted around 5000 miles. The fella had it since about October, and Mark got it back a few weeks ago. He had trading standards involved since about the end of december.

will be phoning trading standards again tomorrow to see about persuing a refund

i have been checking the oil every few days but only when i got to beardy's had it dissappeared.

just been up there

said the oil on the inlet is a sealing glue thing

and because the rocker cover is plastic it warps over time

i always thought that there was a gasket in between the 2 halfs of the inlet and that the rocker was metal

rocker cover is alu
head is alu
there is a gasket
and the inlet is alu
theres a gasket there too

none of the block can be plastic else it would just melt! they sound like a bunch of cowboys...where was it mark? what garage?

There will just be a gasket between all the joins, and why would they glue it?? hmm...

Not good mate, hope you get it sorted!!
One reason I like to do most stuff my self, no one else to blame and the satisfaction of doing it. It might take longer but working on cars isn't rocket science and can be worked out easily enough. Hope to see you at the next meet!
