Of course it is. It strips the car of wax and the natural wax and protection of the paintwork. May leave your car 'squeaky clean', but will leave it at its most vunerable in terms of protection.

wash it, dry it, polish it, get some autoglym extra gloss protection, use that, then whatever wax you choose, easiest way really.

the arches were still shoddy, paid about £300 for the lot painting, i didnt expect a mega good job.

infact the skirts were the same, and i buffed them up the same day.

if gets rid off all the wax's and polishes which you re apply..

aslong as you rinse all the suds off i dont see there being a problem.

washing up liquid contains alot of salt.

Its not adviseable to pour a hot salty solution all over your nice steel car.....

Chris's car probably doesn't have a bit of steel on it.

Although I wouldn't wash mine with it unless trying to get rid of all the coatings on it, it won't do any harm.

like i said on the vx220 forum..

once a month i wash it down well with fairy, get right in the arches. it gets rid of muck.. then i rinse it down, dry it then apply 2 coats of autoglym super resin, and 2 of nxt gen wax.

then when ever i wash it in between i just use water.

i know fairy has salts in and things, but what difference does driving down a gritted road make?? you wouldnt think OMG NO MY STEEL!

aslong as its fully rinsed off it will be fine..
