Top notch mate - tried a few others belonging to mates, would still have the iPod anyday. I bought mine about 3 years ago, had to reboot it once coz it kept locking up but apart from tjat, trouble free motoring - I use it a lot too, battery life still good as the day I bought it.

Do you need the 80 GB one? If thats too expensive just get the 30GB?

I have one, had it for a few years. Never let me down, battery is good, sounds good, easy to use. I'd defo recommend one.

don't need itunes (apart from updating the firmware) - i use winamp on mine with no problems, can upload vids via winamp too.

I think the sound quality is easily better than a Zen or Zune (older iRivers seem to offer a better sound, more defined and accurate), IPods do have a little noise on the output and distort when cranked right up but i can't really fault them, plus 2nd hand ones are cheap enough
