I've done a quick search and this has been mentioned before on this forum but I haven't seen anyone posting this link before, so here goes
http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/214422/corsa_vxr_888.html
Love this quote
"Snap through an upshift at high revs and the VXR sounds like it’s spitting stubby anti-lag flames in its wake as reports crackle and pop from the triangular exit."
Basic spec:
225bhp
243lb's ft torque
6.0secs 0-60mph (est)
145mph (est)
£18,200

I drove one of these the other day (not the 888) just a normal VXR and I have to say overall I was very impressed. The chassis was fantastic and the overall feel of the car was great. Was just dissapointed with the straightline performance Which in all honestly didn't feel as quick as my remapped Fabia VRS.
Would defo be interested in one if I was in the market for a new car, I bet it a right hoot to drive with that extra power and noise Also think it looks so much better lowered and on those wheels.
What do you guys think?

the headlights would look cool smoked IMO
definitely looks meaner lowered and on those wheels, i'd buy one if i didn't have to get a ford.
bet it's a right pain in the arse getting all that power down though.

I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money on that kind of car, for £18k+ I'd want something with either a marque or more class; although it looks nice and I'm sure is a good car £18k seems ridiculous amount to spend on a small hatchback

you'd be surprised. i find mine (albeit standard bar a panel filter) copes with the power very well. the electronic shite isnt too intrusive either.
i'm hoping to get mine upto a similar spec to the 888 (bar the wheels/brakes) later in the year

no, that was the normal vxr
in this months evo they tested the 888 vs the 197 cup vs the st185 vs a lancia intergralle evo and iirc the corsa won

but 225bhp is standard power of a focus st, which i imagine is a lot heavier than a corsa vxr?

You see I just want something thats dam fun to drive and sounds lovely. For the money (brand new car) your down to the likes of a R27 Clio (fantastic car! just hasn't got that wow factor of a Turbo for me, and a bit blander looks) Leon Cupra(well 19.5K), Astra VXR (19.5k), Megane 230 F1 (19.5k), 207GTi (15.4k), Civic Type R (17.6k)
all of which are slower in a straight line, won't sound as good and to me not as interesting to look out (I love the boldness factor of the Corsa).
I like it muchas And the fact you keep the warrenty.

I don't get all these people that say "for a corsa" It only shares the name of the previous vauxhall small hatchbacks. Its totally new car... That laps the Ring in a stonking 8mins 47secs (and thats in standard trim). It Looks, goes, feels fantastic imo. And is a similar price to all its competitors. Dont you think its great that Vauxhall are finally making bold, imaginative cars??? With more power than the competition and crazyier looks. Or would you like them to keep churning out dull stuff, that in standard trim was nowhere near as good as the competition....
Eg. Corsa C SRi v Clio 172 or Corsa B GSi v 106 GTi (no debates about this please Just using it as an example.

You'll not find another 225bhp supermini for the money, so it's not overpriced TBH.
