Hi guys, i have a flame red corsa b, and in some parts its going pink,lol. I was just wondering how i can get the faded paint back to flame red. ALSO iv seen people talk about clay bars, what are they, what do they do and how do you use them??

t cut and perseverance, clay bay doesnt restore colour, just makes it gleam.

Ohright, when i T-cut should i polish it after? Should i shampoo the car before t-cutting?

clay it then t cut, the polish then wax and it will be reder than red

clay bar just removes bonded surface contaminates, not any oxidisation of paint

Dude, i would recommend a good going over with a mop with G3 compound then a finer polish and finish up with some decent wax

Corsa is getting there, if you want to see some bad red paint then check my corsa.. was nearly white in places

If you want to do it yourself then:

wash
clay
t-cut red colourfast
wax of some sort

should give it a decent shine

if not then bodyshop and have it mopped, will cost about £60?

Cheers Rob R, that little list of step by step is awsome, iv got some t-cut red colourfast i think if not i will get some. what kind of wax should i get? Is it hard using clay?

claying is piss easy matey. i got red some red t cut here. couple of layers of somthing like megs gold class will do if your a halfords shopper

Clay barring is tedious, and also unnecessery if you are going to t-cut the car. Bear in mind that t-cut is much finer than the likes of G3 and may not give as good results, but it will help

The tcut will remove all the surface contaminants anyway so why the need to use a clay bar?

And it is tedious, clay bars are small and calibra's are big... i havent used my clay bar on anything else!

claying removes bonded contaminents yes. if you remove them then t-cut the t-cut will do a much better job at restoring the shine, instead of just ripping through the bonded on shite

Can be done with any colour mate! I use G3, then 3m finesse then carbrite wax. Never fails.
