Its starting to get on my nerves how many times, a card and collection is coming round the office, pregnancies, birthdays, seems to be something else everyweek, its getting to the point where i just don't want to dedicate anymore of my money, or have to think up some witty comment to write in the card, to some idiot i'v never spoken to nor ever will. Apart from my team, I don't even like anyone I work with, nor do they like me, so why come asking me for money? It's so they can make themselves look better really.

remember when I worked at planet blue, there was a collection for the managers birthday. I made a stand because I was skint and didn’t feel I was paid enough to put in the collection to get his some crap present. I told them I cant afford to put money in, but I’ll sign the card - they said no, because I never gave them a fiver. I got so mad, I didn’t speak to any one there for weeks

the worst is when they look at you in disgust for even suggesting you don't want to participate or give any money.
when i leave i do not want anything bought for me and i will make that very clear, i do not want a leaving do, if anything i shall get some mates and some of my team and go out, that will be it

mmmmmmm....glad I don't work with any of you! Imagine if you were leaving and you got no card or anything because no-one could be arsed to put any money in the pot!!
And if you can't afford a fiver, then maybe you should be thinking about getting off CS and working harder so you can earn a bit more money. I would be fucking worried if I couldn't afford to spend £5!

Why should anyone pay money for a card? At my old weekend job, the managed used to buy a >£1 card, everyone used to sign it!
No problem in that is there?
